Axe mentions that he is aware the Eads family is in financial troubles and that he expects Sean to convince them to accept his offer of $25 million for the naming rights if he expects to have the $100 million. Sean reveals he is very interested in Axe's $100 million donation offer as they are in need of renovations, but he cannot give him what he wants, since the Eads family owns the naming rights to the building in perpetuity. He expresses his issue with the building's name. ![]() The meeting ends with Birch accepting the plea deal.Īxe meets up with Sean Ayles, the curator of the Ellis Eads Hall. In a meeting between the team and Steven Birch, Chuck and Bryan offer a plea deal while Tara continues to eavesdrop and inform Hall. Chuck decides to settle with Birch rather than aim for a conviction, so they can return their focus on Axelrod. FBI Agent Terri McCue informs Chuck of proof regarding Steven Birch having committed insider trading, while Tara eavesdrops. Tara mocks Hall for assuming her sexuality is something he can hang over her head, but Hall fast forwards the tape to show Tara snorting cocaine off the other woman's body, and successfully blackmails Tara into being his informant. Hall tries to blackmail Tara Mohr, one of the employees of the US Attorney's office, brandishing a recording of Tara having sex with another woman. Victor reflects, and decides to drop the matter. Warren had been blackballed from the entire financial industry, after Axe found out he’d badmouthed him during a job interview. She recounts the story of Warren Jaffin, another former employee of Axe Capital. While Victor wants to stand up for himself, Wendy advises him to stand down. Wendy visits Victor, who is still furious over what Axe did to him. Axe apologises for not informing Wendy of the drill and asks her to fix the matter with Victor. Wendy is upset at not being told about the drill, and informs Axe that humiliating Victor publicly was a bad choice. He decides to make an example of him and fires Victor on the spot. Axe reveals Victor performed especially poorly on the drill. ![]() One of Axe Capital’s top traders, Victor Mateo, expresses anger at the deception. However, Axe later reveals that this was just a drill. During an Axe Capital meeting, the S.E.C appears to interrupt proceedings and demands to interview all employees as well as have complete access to records. Rhoades' office publicly begins investigating Steven Birch's practices, and Bobby is aware he is likely next. The Financial Journal story on Steven Birch is released. Hall calls Axe and informs him that Chuck has opened a case file on him and that it could eventually lead to prosecution. ![]() Bryan shows Chuck the news, confirming Bobby Axelrod's purchase of the Norton Place. In front of his staff, Chuck doubles-down on his decision and says that it's important they convict white collar criminals with the same severity they would a petty drug dealer. Chuck learns that Skip chose to commit suicide rather than go to jail. Axe buys the house, making the front page of the New York Post. Axe and Chuck finally meet face-to-face at an investment conference. Axe and his fixer, Hall, move to frame another trader, Steven Birch, for Axe's wrongdoing. Meanwhile, Axe realizes that an old friend, Dan Margolis, is cooperating with the FBI. arranges a meeting between Skip and his son, to ask for a more lenient punishment, but Chuck refuses to relent. Skip Wolkowski, a friend of Chuck’s father, is being sent to jail by Chuck for insider trading. Chuck decides to bait Axe into buying the house to turn public favor against him. Kate Sacker, an AUSA, informs both Chuck and Bryan that the "Norton Place", a home valued at $83 million dollars is up for sale, and Bobby Axelrod has his sights on it. Chuck shares his concerns regarding Axelrod with Bryan Connerty, the Chief Assistant U.S. Chuck confesses that if he brings up a lawsuit against Bobby Axelrod, that there may be a conflict of interest given her employment as Axe Capital's personal psychiatrist. Chuck brings up the idea of getting a new job to Wendy, who rebuffs the notion, and the two argue. In addition, Chuck's wife, Wendy, works as a motivational coach/psychiatrist at Axe Cap, and the prospect of Chuck investigating her boss causes tension between them.
